I would like to start off by saying this is not my first BB, I am not a new person to this type of device!

I searched across the net before jumping on this phone. I read some places and seen that this phone was pegged as a "newcomer device". After looking over the specs and seeing some of the good features it did have, I decided to make the purchase.. Glad I did!

The 8530 is a pleasure to use! Click an app on the phone and it is an instance launch! You don't have to wait, this phones flies! The trackpad does take a little getting used to but after you get used to it, you would never go back to the dreaded trackball. The wi-fi works as it should and connects without issues and works great! The 5.XX OS makes texting a breeze with the threaded messaging and the keyboard is perfect to type out those long texts. Of course the push Email is great as always.

Battery life is a little in the middle on the 8530. Not really bad, not really good either. It does get the job done but not as good as the Tor for example.

All in all I would not say this device is only for those new to Blackberry! If you want a device that responds well to what you may ask it to do then this may be the device for you!
